Experience

IMG_3592.JPG

Working at the zoo has gave me the experience of working with animals that are not my own. Although I do not work directly with them, I do work near them and get to learn about them.

In the student engagement office I get to work with other students and with my friends so that has led me to be able to get work done but also have fun.

Delta Gamma gave me the experience of working as a team with others that all may not think alike.

Being an orientation/camp leader gave me the experience of being a leader and what that truly means.

Volunteer Work:

I enjoy being able to volunteer and help my community in any way possible. With Delta Gamma we strive for being the best woman we can be. One of the many volunteer things that we do is going to the nursing homes and veterans home near us. I have been able to sit down and talk with the people that have served our country, I was able to deliver Valentine's Day cards and gifts twice now, I was able to celebrate a Valentine's Day party with them, and many more. I have around 20 hours of volunteer service with Delta Gamma in doing that.

I also have 160 hours of volunteer service with a thing we call "Swoop Camp." It is a freshman camp for our college where students get to move in a week early and get to experience all the fun UT Tyler has to offer them! It's really an incredible experience for the students and the leaders such as myself. Throughout that whole week we were always doing things. We spent all of the Spring semester training to make this the best summer experience that we could give to the freshman coming to our campus. We wanted to make sure that they loved UT Tyler as much as we did!
