Working at the zoo has been nothing but fun and a learning experience. Here is why I'm still here and how much fun I have had along the way.

Marjani
This is my favorite giraffe at the zoo, Marjani, he's our only male and he is the father of another giraffe at the zoo right now!
The giraffe feeding deck is where I normally work. This is where you can have an upfront and personal experience with the giraffes as you feed them a piece of lettuce. I have learned many things about giraffes and how they function and it is definitely helped me learn all about the animal.

Tanya
I got to paint with our big girl Tanya. She is in her older 40s and has been painting pictures for the zoo for a long time. I won this experience just from working at the zoo! She is an extraordinary animal and only likes to paint because she gets treats while doing so. I can see the elephants from the giraffe feeding deck so watching their aneurysms and learning about them has been amazing.

Stingrays at Henry Doorly Zoo
At the Henry Doorly Zoo you could feed the stingrays and it was neat to learn how they feed with their mouths being underneath them. I love ocean animals because my aunt lives by the ocean and she passed away from breast cancer a few years ago and ever since then I have been in love with the animals of the sea ever since!
